The team at 2HQ Consulting Engineers is made up of engineers and project managers.  The foundation and reputation of our business is built on strong and long-term client relationships.  We provide a professional and hands-on service throughout the project life cycle, from initial surveys and concept planning, through to design, delivery, project management, ongoing maintenance and disposal of the asset. Stephen graduated from Queens University Belfast in 1995 with an honours degree in civil engineering.  He has been working in engineering consultancy for over 25 years and has a wealth of experience in a wide range of civil and structural engineering projects. Stephen is a chartered structural engineer with specific expertise in the investigation & diagnosis of building defects, project management of building repair projects, acting as an expert witness and providing specialist engineering advice to the insurance industry.

  Stephen is a member of the Institution of Structural Engineers, Engineers Ireland and is a Fellow of the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland.  Robert graduated from DIT Bolton Street in 2003 with an honours degree in structural engineering. He has been working in engineering consultancy for over 20 years and has broad experience in a wide range of civil and structural engineering projects.  Robert is a chartered engineer with specific expertise in the investigation & diagnosis of building defects, project management of building repair projects and providing specialist engineering advice to the insurance industry.

Tom and Stephen McQuade have been working together since 1997.   Tom started his engineering career in 1968 in Ove Arup & Partners and has worked with some of Dublin’s leading engineering consultancies over the years. Tom is a highly experienced engineer who has been involved in some of the largest developments in the greater Dublin area. Tom has specific expertise in “unlocking” sites with complex development issues and negotiating solutions with stakeholders and local authorities.

Tom is also an expert in legal mapping and is very experienced in surveying sites and buildings and undertaking technical due diligence reviews.  Brendan qualified in 2005 from Trinity College with an honours degree in civil engineering, a HDip in Environmental Engineering from Trinity College in 2009 and holds an Engineering Masters degree obtained from Trinity College in 2012.  Brendan has been working with Stephen in different roles and companies since 2007, and is currently providing specialist civil engineering consultancy advice to 2HQ.   Brendan is a civil engineering university lecturer and is nearing completion of his PHD in Ocean Energy.
