Mayo was established by Sheila Murphy B.Sc. in Environmental Science (Hons), and a M.Sc. in Biodiversity and Conservation (Hons) .

She is a Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (MCIEEM). She has over a decades experience in the ecological consultancy sector on variety of small and large-scale development projects such as national road schemes greenways, flood relief schemes and one-off residential housing, during both their pre-planning and construction phases. She has extensive skills in conducting multi-disciplinary ecological surveys including botanical and terrestrial mammal surveys, habitat assessments and bat surveys.

accomplished in conducting Screening for Appropriate Assessments (AAs), Natura Impact Statements (NIS) and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Screenings. Sheila has also acted as an Ecological Clerk of Works on large scale national developments. S he has vast experience in environmental education and community-based projects.

Over the years she has worked with a great number of community and Tidy Towns groups to develop targeted and site-specific Biodiversity Action Plans. Sheila is passionate about the environment and how we can positively contribute towards the management and protection our habitats and ecosystems. She has a strong interest in agriculture and believes it has a large role to play in the conservation of our landscape.
