Delichon Ecology Ltd was founded in 2019, is based in Headford Co. Galway and operates nationwide. Eamonn Delaney is Principal Ecologist and Director with Delichon Ecology Ltd.

Eamonn is a Chartered Ecologist with the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) and has over 15 years’ experience in the ecological consultancy sector. Eamonn has been involved on numerous small and large-scale development projects including national road schemes, greenways, renewable energy projects, flood relief schemes, raised bog conservation and rehabilitation and commercial and residential developments. Eamonn has extensive skills in conducting multi-disciplinary ecological surveys including botanical surveys, terrestrial mammal surveys, habitat assessments and ornithological surveys.

Eamonn also has competency in QGIS and QField routinely using these mapping applications. Eamonn and Delichon Ecology Ltd support our Clients through the Planning Process by undertaking ecological surveys and reporting such as Preliminary Environmental Assessments (PEA), Ecological Impact Assessment Report (EcIA), Appropriate Assessment Screening Reports and Natura Impact Statement Report and the Biodiversity chapters of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIAR). Delichon Ecology provide ecological support services from project design through to construction and operation while also devising short, medium and long term conservation management proposals for lands within a project boundary.

Delichon Ecology seeks to quickly identify constraints and challenges associated with projects and initiatives while providing practical guidance on how to protect ecological receptors associated with a plan or project. We seek to protect features of ecological conservation by avoiding impacts through tailored, iterative design while proposing best practice measures and bespoke mitigation to avoid and reduce impacts on biodiversity as required.
