Mark Murphy, the managing director of MMConsult, is a Chartered Civil Engineer with over 25 years of experience working within Engineering Consultancies in Ireland, the UK and Germany. Mark has inspected and assessed over 3000 bridge structures in Ireland and the UK on behalf of the TII, Local Authorities and PPP Motorway Operators. He obtained a degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering from University College Cork in 1998 and received a Master of Science degree in Computational Engineering from Ruhr Universität Bochum, Germany in 2004.

Team leader for inaugural TII Eirspan Bridge Management System executing Principal Inspection Task Orders, including inspection, assessment and report preparation of structures on the national primary and secondary routes. Design team leader on numerous bridge strengthening, bridge rehabilitation, bridge replacement and new build bridge projects for TII, local authorities and Design and Build Contractors. This included project management, preliminary report preparation, assessment of load carrying capacity, detailed design, contract preparation and on-site supervision.
