Mark Todd BA (Hons), MArch, ARB, RIBA, RSUA Mark Todd Architects was established in 2016 and is based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The practice is interested in designing and delivering buildings that respond to their physical, cultural and historic context - with the ambition that they will, in time, grow naturally into becoming a meaningful part of a place and the lives of the people who surround it.

With each new project the practice pays close attention to the needs of the client, the selection of materials and the use of natural light to help to create a sense of composure, permanence and warmth throughout. The practice has a portfolio comprising housing developments, public buildings and the restoration and conservation of listed buildings. Before establishing the practice, Mark spent 5 years working at RIBA award winning practice Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios and 2 years at RIBA award winning practice Hall McKnight Architects.

Notable projects from Mark's time at those practices include contemporary alterations to a scheduled ancient monument in Gloucester and a planning and listed building consent application for King's College London in Westminster. Having worked on and delivered contemporary architecture within sensitive contexts, Mark Todd Architects has a depth of experience in the planning and listed building consent process. In 2010, Mark completed ‘The Repair of Historic Buildings Course’ held by The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings.

Presented by leading building conservation professionals, the Repair Course considers local and international approaches to the conservation of old buildings. In 2022, Mark renewed his commitment to the conservation, refurbishment and restoration of historic building’s by completing an RSUA Conservation Register Course. Mark graduated from Northumbria University in 2009 with distinction.
