PAC Studio is a Dublin-based architectural and environmental design practice, founded by Graham Petrie and Peter Crowley. We have worked together for over 25 years, delivering housing, public-sector, civic and workplace projects for local authorities, housing bodies, government agencies and private clients across Ireland.

Our work ranges from individual homes and retrofit projects to large multi-unit housing developments and civic buildings, bringing the same level of care, technical rigour and environmental intelligence to every commission. Our director-led approach ensures close collaboration with our clients, consultants and specialist craftspeople, bringing continuity, judgment and care to projects of every scale. This ethos has been recognised by the Royal Institute of Architects in Ireland, through awards for our projects and our practice.

We are interested in the design and construction of simple, well-crafted architectural solutions — comfortable in use, responsive to place, and durable over the long term.

Sustainability Focus

Environment + Ecology Environmental design is embedded in our architecture from the outset. Rather than relying on highly serviced or technology-led solutions, we prioritise passive architectural strategies that improve comfort, resilience and long-term performance through form, orientation, section and material choice. Our work focuses on: orientation, volume and massing as primary environmental drivers daylight, natural ventilation and hybrid ventilation strategies low-energy, durable and low-maintenance building fabric alignment between predicted and actual operational performance This approach is informed by decades of practice, post-occupancy research and our built work across housing, public-sector and civic projects. We see environmental performance not as a fixed target, but as an ongoing process of testing, learning and refinement — particularly through the careful adaptation and reuse of existing buildings.
